Microsoft Power BI

Stop making decisions based on last month’s spreadsheet. Power BI connects live to your Dynamics 365 data, your finance systems, and every other source your business relies on — turning raw numbers into the clear, actionable insights your leadership team needs to act with confidence.

The Reporting Problem Every Business Recognises

Most businesses are data-rich and insight-poor. Finance produces month-end reports that arrive too late to act on. Sales dashboards live in spreadsheets that someone updates manually. Operations track KPIs in formats that bear no resemblance to what leadership actually needs to see. Every team has the numbers — but nobody has the full picture, and by the time a decision gets made, the data is already out of date.

Power BI changes this completely. It connects directly to your live data sources — Dynamics 365, Business Central, Excel, SharePoint, SQL databases, and hundreds of third-party systems — and surfaces the information your business needs in real time, in the format your teams can actually use.

Faster Decisions

Real-time dashboards replace static monthly reports that arrive too late to change outcomes.

300+ Connectors

Connect to every data source your business uses — with no code required.

Self-Service Analytics

Business users build their own reports without waiting for IT — governed, secure, and consistent.

Live Dashboards & Interactive Reports

Power BI dashboards update in real time as your data changes. Whether you need a finance dashboard showing cashflow, debtors, and budget vs actuals, a sales pipeline view broken down by rep and region, or an operations board tracking fulfilment rates and stock levels — Finsys Apps designs and builds reports that answer the specific questions your leadership team asks every day.

Every dashboard is interactive. Users can drill down from a summary to the underlying transactions, filter by date, product, territory, or customer, and export to Excel or PowerPoint in a single click.

  • Real-time dashboards refreshed automatically from live data sources
  • Drill-down from high-level KPIs to individual transaction detail
  • Role-based views — executives, managers, and operations each see what they need
  • Mobile-responsive — full dashboard access from phone or tablet
  • Export to Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF in one click

Native Integration with Dynamics 365

Person reviewing reportsPower BI is embedded natively within Dynamics 365 — meaning your CRM, Finance, Business Central, and Supply Chain data is immediately available for reporting without any manual export or connection work. Finsys Apps uses this integration to build unified reporting environments that surface insight across every part of your business from a single pane of glass.

For clients running Business Central or Finance, we build pre-configured financial reporting packs that replace the manual month-end pack process — delivering automated P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, and variance analysis reports that finance teams can run themselves without waiting for IT.

  • Pre-built Dynamics 365 and Business Central connectors — no setup required
  • Unified cross-system dashboards combining CRM, ERP, and finance data
  • Automated financial reporting packs replacing manual month-end processes
  • Azure Synapse and Dataverse integration for large-scale analytics

AI-Powered Insights with Copilot

Microsoft Copilot is embedded directly in Power BI. Users can ask questions in natural language — “show me which products had the biggest margin decline last quarter” — and Copilot generates the relevant visual instantly, without needing to know how to build a report. For leadership teams that need answers quickly without navigating complex dashboards, this is transformational.

Copilot also generates narrative summaries of dashboards, highlights anomalies and trends that warrant attention, and can proactively alert users when key metrics move outside expected ranges.

  • Natural language Q&A — ask questions, get instant visuals
  • AI-generated narrative summaries explaining what the data means
  • Anomaly detection and automatic trend alerts
  • Proactive data story generation for executive briefings

Why Businesses Choose Finsys Apps for Power BI

A Power BI implementation is only valuable if it answers the questions your business actually asks. Generic dashboards built from templates get used for a week and then ignored. Finsys Apps takes time to understand what decisions you need to make, what data you have, and how your teams work — then designs reports and dashboards that become genuinely indispensable to how your business runs.

We implement Power BI as part of your broader Dynamics 365 and Microsoft 365 ecosystem — not as a standalone tool — which means the data governance, security, and data model are right from the start, and reports continue to work as your business grows.

  • Designed around your actual business questions — not generic templates
  • Implemented as part of your Dynamics 365 ecosystem for seamless data governance
  • Data model design that scales as your business grows
  • User adoption training so your teams get real value from day one
  • Ongoing support and report development as your needs evolve

“I started Finsys Apps because I believed businesses deserved better — better implementations, better support, and better outcomes from their technology investment. Every client we work with gets my personal commitment to that standard.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Power BI is Microsoft’s dedicated business intelligence platform. Unlike Excel, which requires manual data exports and refreshes, Power BI connects live to your data sources and updates automatically. It handles far larger datasets, supports multi-source data blending, provides interactive drill-down reports, and enables role-based sharing across your organisation — all without emailing spreadsheets.
Yes. Power BI includes over 300 pre-built data connectors covering Salesforce, Google Analytics, SAP, Oracle, Xero, Sage, Shopify, and many more. For systems without a pre-built connector, data can be brought in via ODBC, REST APIs, or flat file imports. Finsys Apps will assess your data landscape and design the most practical connection approach.
Consuming reports — drilling down, filtering, and exploring dashboards — is intuitive and requires minimal training. Building new reports requires more skill, but Power BI’s low-code interface means business users can learn the fundamentals quickly. Finsys Apps provides role-based training covering both report consumption and report building, calibrated to your teams’ existing data literacy.
Power BI is available as Power BI Pro (per-user licence for sharing and collaboration) and Power BI Premium (capacity-based, for large-scale deployments and advanced AI features). Power BI Desktop is free for individual report building. Most organisations start with Pro licences for report builders and consumers. Finsys Apps will recommend the right licence model for your usage pattern and scale.
A focused Power BI engagement — connecting your key data sources and building your initial dashboard set — typically takes between two and six weeks depending on the number of sources, complexity of your data model, and number of reports required. Finsys Apps delivers in a phased approach, getting your first dashboards live quickly and iterating from there.
