We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Finance Functional Consultant Apprentice, working at the intersection of finance, technology, and consulting. This role is ideal for someone starting their career who wants to learn how modern finance and ERP systems support real businesses.

This is a UK government-recognised apprenticeship, combining structured training with hands-on experience. You’ll work towards a formal qualification while gaining practical skills and mentoring from experienced consultants.

Salary & Apprenticeship Details

  • Salary: £20,000 – £24,000 per year (dependent on age, experience, and apprenticeship level)

  • Apprenticeship: Funded through the UK Apprenticeship Levy

  • Duration: Typically 18–24 months

  • Qualification: Relevant finance / systems / consulting apprenticeship standard

What You’ll Be Doing

During the apprenticeship, you’ll be trained to:

  • Support the implementation of finance and ERP systems (e.g. accounting, reporting, budgeting, and controls)

  • Work with clients to understand their finance processes and business requirements

  • Help configure finance systems to align with best-practice processes

  • Assist with system testing, documentation, and user training materials

  • Support data migration, reconciliations, and go-live activities

  • Learn end-to-end finance processes such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Reporting

  • Work alongside senior functional consultants, technical teams, and project managers

  • Develop an understanding of how finance systems are used in real-world organisations

Entry Requirements

  • A-levels, BTEC, or equivalent (Maths, Business, Finance, or IT are beneficial)

  • Or a suitable school-leaver / career-starter background

  • Must be eligible to work in the UK and meet apprenticeship eligibility criteria

  • No prior consulting or systems experience required — full training provided

  • Finance Functional Consultant Apprentice
    Learn core finance processes, systems configuration, and consulting fundamentals.

  • Junior Finance Functional Consultant
    Take ownership of defined workstreams, support client implementations, and contribute independently to projects.

  • Finance Functional Consultant
    Lead functional areas, work directly with clients, and design finance solutions aligned to business needs.

  • Senior Finance Functional Consultant
    Act as a subject-matter expert, mentor junior team members, and lead complex implementations.

  • Lead / Solution Consultant (longer-term)
    Shape solution design, support pre-sales, and influence product and delivery strategy.

Progression is supported through ongoing training, mentoring, and real project experience, with opportunities to specialise in specific finance modules or systems over time.
